jobs.ac.uk Academic Spotlight Interviews kicks off with Shravani Sharma from WMG, University of Warwick. She is a third-year engineering PhD student.
Shravani’s journey to academia began as she grew up in Assam, India. She grew up in a quiet, small city; however, over time, she observed rapid development and urbanisation that led to wider and systemic issues, including air pollution. Being a first-hand witness to these negative impacts on the city she loved, she was driven to pursue a career aimed at mediating these challenges and transforming the way people live.
Currently pursuing a PhD in Engineering with a specialisation in human factors, Shravani focuses on looking at the relationship between subjective well-being and individuals` travel choices.
Her aim is to contribute to the development of inclusive policies for the future. With a background in urban and transportation planning, from both civil service and industry roles, she brings a multidisciplinary perspective to her research.
