Meet the Host

Gabe Manthorp
Gabe is an internationally produced playwright with an MA in writing and a background in the creative and leisure industries.
He has worked in FE, HE, and skills for over a decade, including current roles as Assistant Director: HE at Newham College; Quality and Standards Assessor with the OfS; and a range of consultancy and advisory positions across the sector.
Gabe’s specific expertise is in College-based HE and higher technical education, which he has written about extensively, including through institutional strategies; policy consultation; quality assessment reports; contribution to sector-wide networks; newsletters; and personal channels.
In 2024, Gabe was the keynote speaker at AdvanceHE’s College-based HE Conference with “What the F do we do with the H? – The role of FE Colleges in the future of English HE”.
