Meet the host
Lucy Wide
Lucy joined the University of Derby in December 2022 as a Recruitment Assistant. In November 2023, she was promoted to her current role as Recruitment Specialist.
Before joining the University of Derby, Lucy studied Psychology at the University of Lincoln. After graduating, she began her career in recruitment, working for a care organisation for a couple of years. Seeking a new challenge and clearer opportunities for career development, she made the move to the University of Derby.
In her current role, Lucy manages a large and diverse recruitment portfolio, supporting areas such as the College of Science and Engineering, Registry, External Relations, the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, and the Innovation and Research department. She also leads key recruitment campaigns and contributes to projects aligned with the Resourcing strategy, helping to drive continuous process improvements. At the core of her work is a strong commitment to ensuring that both hiring managers and candidates have the best possible experience with the University.
