Meet the Host

Byron Creese

Dr Byron Creese is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Research in the Department of Psychology at Brunel University London. His academic work focuses on neuropsychiatric symptoms in dementia, with a particular emphasis on psychosis, risk prediction, and patient-centred approaches to improving clinical outcomes. He leads a portfolio of translational research spanning epidemiology, clinical studies, and data-driven approaches, and has secured competitive funding from NIHR, Innovate UK, and international partners to advance understanding of disease mechanisms and treatment safety.

Alongside his academic role, Dr Creese provides strategic leadership as Director of Research, supporting the development and delivery of departmental research strategy, particularly by fostering collaborative partnerships and a positive research culture. This role involves research planning, contribution to REF preparation, and supporting the development of staff and postgraduate researchers, creating an environment that promotes high-quality, inclusive, and impactful research.
