Jennie Preece

Jennie is a careers adviser and during her time at Bangor University, was Acting Head of the Career Service until 2008, was the first e-guidance practitioner in Wales and was part of the team that introduced and trained colleagues across Wales on becoming e-guidance practitioners. Jennie also contributed to Vitae residential courses and set up a course for unemployed graduates. Before moving to North Wales, Jennie worked in Gloucestershire for the Careers Service and then moved to the Middle East where she was a representative on the British Council Education Committee and a member of the Dubai International Business Women’s Group. After three years working with the Higher Colleges of Technology she set up a new Careers Service at the American University of Sharjah. Prior to training as a careers adviser, Jennie qualified as a teacher and taught in the UK and the USA, but worked in a variety of jobs. These included checking in flights at Heathrow Airport, a live-in governess, a senior administrator with Texaco in London, and making Funny Face ice lollies at Wall’s ice cream factory!
