Earlier this year we asked jobs.ac.uk visitors whether they’d like an opportunity to meet with senior representatives from Asian universities here in the UK, to discuss their career opportunities.
We found out that 89% of our respondents were interested in attending this kind of international networking and recruitment event.
Because of this, we’ve decided to launch Careers in Asia 2019, our inaugural event to help connect academics based in the UK with those in Asia.
With the event only a couple of months away, we’re excited to announce that registration is now open.
Read on below to find out about how attending Careers in Asia 2019 could help you get started in developing your career, expertise and research in Asia.
Why should you consider furthering your career in Asia?
Asia is the fastest growing economy in the world and with the population expanding rapidly, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development predicts that Asia will soon be home to two-thirds of the global middle class.
The continent also offers an academically rich career with 505 institutions featuring in the QS World rankings, in comparison to 450 the previous year.
This rapid growth creates an exciting opportunity for new and cutting-edge research collaborations within higher education in Asia.
With these recent developments in mind, now is the perfect time to start exploring what this kind of international experience could do for your academic career.
How do you start pursuing your career in Asia?
We understand the amount of work that needs to go into finding the right opportunities, as well as how hard it can be to get the information you need when considering moving abroad to develop your career.
That’s why when we realised just how big the demand was from UK based academics for opportunities to meet face-to-face with Asian universities, we decided to deliver Careers in Asia 2019.
By attending Careers in Asia 2019 you’ll be able to directly connect with senior representatives from Asian universities and discuss your opportunities in person.
Any questions you have about working in Asia you can get answered instantly, and you’ll begin to feel more prepared in your pursuit of internationalising your career in Asia.
